7 Injured in Pattaya Car Wreck

A pickup truck, littered with Beer cans, is thought to have caused a major traffic accident this morning, injuring 7 people in Pattaya

Witnesses called the emergency services to second road in Jontien in the early hours of Monday morning after a pickup truck, carrying five people is said to have side swiped a minivan.

Cutting equipment was used to free the injured from the wreckage as the two people in the minivan were in a critical condition.   The Chevrolet Pickup was also cut open as the driver and passenger were trapped.  In the rear of the pickup were three more passengers, also injured.

Witnesses stated that the pickup was speeding through the city when it hit the minivan at a set of traffic lights.  Police examined the scene and the truck driver was acuationed before being sent with the others for emergency treatement

Booked for grievous bodily harm or worse would have been the response in many countries. How do we get people to drive safely if each time an accident occurs no jail sentencing follows. A gentle slap on the wrist so that other road-users can go kill someone. Thailand, locked into a Third world mindset.
